Hej!

I min konstnärliga praktik utforskar jag kollektiva erfarenheter som migration, mellanförskap och nu senast begreppet omsorg. Genom mitt pågående projekt Badsäsongen undersöker jag hur utrymmen för kollektiv nakenhet kan användas för att skapa potential att neutralisera de förväntningar som kroppen utsätts för i samhället. Simsäsong handlar om dessa möten och om att bada tillsammans under hela året. Inför baden ger jag deltagarna en kort genomgång av vad vi ska göra. Sedan går vi ut i vattnet och sätter oss tills vi alla kan andas lugnt. Vi bestämmer tillsammans när vi är redo att lämna vattnet, går upp och klär på oss. Genom dessa bad har många ämnen som vård, kollektivitet, välbefinnande, påverkan av det kalla vattnet, nakenkroppen, praktiska egenskaper och åldrande kommit upp. Med detta projekt vill jag utforska hur människor kan mötas på nya sätt, bryta hierarkier i grupper och diskutera hur icke-sexuell nakenhet skulle kunna möjliggöra normalisering av den icke-normativa kroppen.
Vissa delar av badsäsongen är förankrade i det konstnärliga rummet, och andra aspekter måste upplevas direkt. Denna handduk är därför en inbjudan till en basta och bada med mig.

In my artistic practice, I explore collective experiences such as migration, in-betweenness, and most recently, the concept of care. Through my ongoing project Swimming Season (Badsäsongen), I investigate how spaces for collective nudity can be used to create potential to neutralize the expectations that the body is exposed to in society. Swimming Season is about these meetings and about taking baths together throughout the year. Before the baths, I give the participants a brief overview of what we will do. Then we go out into the water and sit down until we all can breathe calmly. We decide together when we are ready to leave the water, get up, and get dressed. Through these baths, many subjects such as care, collectivity, well-being, the impact of the cold waters, the nude body, practicality, and ageing have come up. With this project, I want to explore how people can meet in new ways, break hierarchies in groups, and discuss how non-sexual nudity could enable the normalization of the non-normative body.

Some parts of the Swimming Season are grounded in the artistic space, and other aspects need to be experienced firsthand. This towel is, therefore, an invitation for a sauna session and bath with me. Depending on the season, the experience may vary.
